THE VAGUS NERVE: CALM AND INNER STRENGTH

The vagus is the main nerve of the autonomic nervous system. This name indicates that, unlike the musculoskeletal system, this part of our nervous system cannot be controlled by the will.

The autonomic nervous system consists of the so-called "sympathetic nervous system", the part that activates muscles, breathing and blood circulation, and the "parasympathetic nervous system", which promotes digestive activity and at the same time reduces heart rate, blood pressure and muscle activation. Both parts are in constant interaction with each other. For many people in our modern life, sympathetic nervous system activity predominates ("fight or flight"). The permanently predominant sympathetic nervous system activation is a risk factor for

  • high blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Obesity
  • diabetes
  • Gastrointestinal disorders

The vagus nerve is also known as the health nerve because of its calming effect on the sympathetic nervous system. Improving your lifestyle and strengthening the vagus nerve through atlas therapy, abdominal treatment, the vagus fit infusion and exercises can help to restore balance. The Polyvagal Academy

website also highlights how important the vagus nerve is, not just for our physical health.

The VNS analysis can measure the balance in the vegetative nervous system .

OUR VAGUS CONCEPT

The vagus nerve is a so-called "cranial nerve" - it originates from the brain, leaves the brain at the base of the skull and then runs through the neck and chest into the abdomen, giving off various branches along its way to supply organs.

That is why treatments of the head joints and the atlas, the jaw, the spine and the organs themselves can release blockages that impair function.

Infusions such as the Vagus-Fit infusion, vitamins and, if necessary, intestinal cleansing can also be helpful.

These measures are supplemented by an exercise program.
