After better recovery of patients with COVID-19 was observed in high-altitude areas of South America, a study group came together to investigate the effect of intermittent hypoxia training (IHT) on the ability to recover after surviving COVID-19. The results showed a positive clinical effect without any side effects being observed.

In their conclusion, the authors describe IHHT as an effective and cost-effective treatment for symptoms following COVID-19 disease.
